WHO WE ARE

Since 1940, members of the Professional Fire Fighters of North Carolina have been serving the people who live, work and visit North Carolina. Those members are part of your, or more accurately, our community. We are your neighbors, friends and family members. “First responder” is not only a job description, it is also a definition of action taken by, and expected of, your local fire department. Fire fighters are among those first on the scene of almost all emergencies. Professional fire fighters take the responsibility  for provision of immediate and appropriate response very seriously.

Just as we take our responsibility for the safety of our communities seriously, we also take our responsibility for the safety and well-being of our members seriously. Our organization assists fire fighters and their families and other community members as they deal with illness, injury and disability and loss of life and property. Please consider partnering with us as we provide that assistance.

If you have any questions regarding our non-profit status or our matching gift program, please contact Scott Mullins, President, PFFPNC, at [email protected] or 828-989-0953.

As always, please remain safe and thank you for your support.

Where the funds go

At this time, we’d like to ask that you join our charitable organization in helping us all protect one another. Your contribution not only helps fire fighters, but citizens across the state and country. Here’s how:

  • Fire Fighter Cancer Death Support: When a fire fighter is diagnosed with cancer from the years of service, we want to step in and support our brothers and sisters for their selfless service by helping them through treatment or their families in the unfortunate event of death.
  • Natural Disaster Support: When a natural disaster strikes, our fire fighters react immediately. When Houston was flooded following Hurricane Harvey, our North Carolina fire fighters flew to Texas, took needed goods and helped support our Texan brothers and sisters when they needed it the most. And that’s just one example.
  • Child Advocacy Centers: We support community and state-wide child advocacy centers to help ensure children who have been sexually assaulted get the trauma treatment that they need.
  • Operation Warm: We raise funds to purchase American-made, brand new winter coats for children in communities across the state so they won’t go cold.
